Zero Gravity Industries has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of a wide range of targeted training for government, industry and commercial operations.
The Working in Confined Spaces Training Course is designed for participants who will be working in the resources and infrastructure industries requiring access to confined spaces in the performance of their duties.
On completion of the course participants will gain the knowledge and skills to enter confined spaces in accordance with an issued work permit in order to conduct work under the relevant legislation and Australian Standards for confined spaces.
The course program covers the following topics:
- A review of regulations, legislation and Australian Standards
- Understanding of the different types of confined spaces
- Using appropriate PPE and specific equipment
- Risk assessment and eliminating hazards
- Entry and exit techniques
- Atmospheric testing and management of ventilation
- Best practices working for in confined spaces
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Working in Confined Spaces Training Course is nationally accredited and all successful participants will receive a statement of attainment upon completion. It is an industry recommendation that a refresher course is undertaken every 2 years.
Assessment will consist of a written component and practical exercises all delivered over one day with an emphasis on workplace health and safety and emergency procedures. Where possible participants will undertake the practical component in confined space areas at their place of work. Alternately, participants will use a simulated confined space.
The practical component may include a mix of:
- Completing set tasks in a confined space area
- Demonstrating competency in the use of PPE and other relevant equipment
- Demonstrating competency in the use of atmospheric testing equipment
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness in order to undertake the practical exercises. The course can be delivered at your premises or at a nearby training facility depending on your specific requirements.
The all-inclusive cost (for a maximum of 12 participants) is $2000 (plus GST).
