Zero Gravity Industries has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of a wide range of targeted training for government, industry and commercial operations.
The Working Safely at Heights Course is suitable for any employee required to perform their duties from heights or depths and is compliant with AS/NZS1891 (Industrial fall-arrest systems and devices).
The course provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge for working safely at heights and familiarises them with a wide range of fall protection equipment and procedures.
The course program covers the following topics:
- Regulations, legislation and Australian Standards
- An overview of WAH equipment
- Risk assessment and eliminating hazards
- Anchorage equipment and best practice
- Fall restraint systems
- Work positioning systems, including the selection and correct use of equipment
- The correct and safe use of ladders
COURSE OVERVIEW
The program will specifically address the regular working at heights tasks undertaken by your employees and the apparatus used by them (as well as introducing them to a wide range of other modern equipment used across industry.
Assessment will consist of a written component and practical exercises all delivered over one day with an emphasis on workplace health and safety and emergency procedures.
The practical component may include a mix of:
- Using a variety of harnesses to ascend and descend structures
- Using a variety of energy absorbing lanyards to ascend and descend structures
- Simulating rescue scenarios
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness in order to undertake the practical exercises. The course can be delivered at your premises or at a nearby training facility depending on your specific requirements.
